アーティストが集まる街、瀬戸を体感。複雑怪奇に変化し続ける「タネリスタジオ」へ。

Experience Seto, a city where artists gather, and visit Taneri Studio, a place that continues to evolve in complex and mysterious ways.

The Aichi International Art Festival 2025 , held in Aichi Prefecture every three years , finally began on Saturday, September 13th.

The city of Seto, which was chosen as the venue, is creating quite a buzz with art on display here and there. As a Seto citizen, one place I would highly recommend you visit is Taneri Studio , where around 12 contemporary artists are currently active.

Art is fun!
Even people who have never been particularly interested in art will surely enjoy this place. It was created in 2017 by converting an abandoned building, and artists have been renovating it one by one, and it continues to evolve into a complex and mysterious place. There are plenty of events planned during the period, so we would like to introduce them to you as we hope you will visit.

"TANERI STUDIO TOUR" - A tour of the studio guided by an artist

Our most recommended event is the "TANERI STUDIO TOUR." You can tour the studio guided by the artist himself. I was shocked when I visited for the first time. I felt like I had opened the door to art that I had never known before. I would like everyone to experience this shock.

The Taneli Gallery is located on the first floor of Taneli Studio.
The museum hosts various special exhibitions from time to time, and is currently hosting the "Three Records Exhibition," organized by MITOS, a painter active in Taneli Studio.

This special exhibition will be held at three venues: Taneri Gallery, Koide Zaisho and Joanji Temple in Nishikasugai County, and SUNSHINE UNDERGROUND CURRENT in Shimizu, Nagoya.

The 17 artists participating were selected through a kind of nose, similar to the collection of analog records that MITOS cultivated during his time performing live painting in clubs. MITOS's works can be seen at the Nagoya venue.

Held on Saturdays and Sundays from October 4th (Sat) to November 30th (Sun). "ART x Tea House Taneri-an"

After the "3 RECORD Exhibition" ends, the special exhibition "ART x Tea Room Taneri-an" will be held at the Taneri Gallery. In "ART x Tea Room Taneri-an," elements essential to a tea room, such as hanging scrolls, tea utensils, and flowers, are replaced with the works of each artist, set against the backdrop of the tea room, an "extraordinary place."

There will also be an opportunity to experience making tea using works by artists (fees apply, reservations required) and a "hospitality artist talk."

I'm also very interested in the talk event "A State of Writing and Unwriting" (reservations required, admission free) to be held on Sunday, October 26th, featuring Mizuno Yusuke, the eighth generation successor of Seto Hongyo Kiln, and Uematsu Yurika, vice president of Taneri Studio and contemporary artist!
